DTR Therapy/T-Scan

Michelle Wyngaard is one of only six UK dentists to hold the prestigious DTR Certification

from the USA. This advanced qualification enables her to treat chronic headaches, migraines,

TMD/TMJ symptoms, and neurophysiological facial pain by precisely measuring and

correcting muscle hyperactivity — issues that conventional dentistry often cannot detect.

Unlike standard T-Scan users, Michelle has completed the rigorous T-Scan 10 and BioEMG

III chairside training protocols, making her among the very few dentists in Britain fully

qualified to provide transformative Disclusion Time Reduction (DTR) therapy.

How Do You Know Your Bite Is Off?

Your Bite

How your teeth come together is called “occlusion.” Sometimes your teeth don’t fit properly when your teeth occlude when you bite, close, or chew. This can lead to: • Headaches • Jaw pain and stiffness • Sensitive teeth • Neck and back pain

So, What Is Dental Occlusion?

Dental occlusion refers to the way your teeth meet when you bite together. Optimally, all your teeth should come in contact with one another at about the same time and with equal force. When this does not happen, your occlusion is unbalanced and problems may result.

Problems With Poor Occlusion

• Damaged restorations (crowns, bridges)

• Fractured teeth

• Receding gums or loose teeth

• Pain in the teeth, muscles & jaw

• Night time teeth grinding

• Increased headache and neck pain

• Greater tooth wear and sensitivity

the only technology allowing dentists to see the Unseen

How Can We Help To Balance Your Bite?

A simple occlusal exam with the T-Scan system is very easy and painless. It gives us the information we need to easily determine and restore the perfect balance of your bite. T-Scan is a tool that your dentist can use to accurately measure the force and timing of your bite, or occlusion.

What Happens During a Tscan Exam?

Our dentist will connect the T-Scan handpiece to a computer and attach a sensor designed to fit comfortably in your mouth. Once inserted, you'll be asked to bite down several times while the system records the force and timing of your teeth coming together.

The software then generates a dynamic, real-time visualisation of your bite, displaying the sequence of contacts and pressure levels from start to finish. This advanced analysis helps us instantly identify problem areas, revealing which teeth experience the most force and detecting any occlusal imbalances that could impact your overall health, both now and in the future.

Occlusion Affects Everyone

Dentists are using T-scan to help enhance their treatment planning. The T-scan works by analysing your occlusal plane (biting surfaces). It is the only tool that provides detailed information about the bite. By providing data related to occlusal force, location, and timing, T-Scan helps dentists identify occlusal interferences that could be potentially destructive to their dentistry.

Benefits of digital measured occlusion

Identify Occlusal Instabilities

T-Scan reveals occlusal instabilities in patients undergoing splint therapy and TMD (temporomandibular joint dysfunction) treatment.

Data Drives Better Results

T-Scan digital occlusal analysis provides data that ensures your dental artistry is flawless and functional.

Enhanced Form and Function

Art meets science when it comes to improving a patient’s oral health, function, and appearance with T-Scan.

Key Reasons for a Precision Bite

Precision Occlusal Mapping

Precision Occlusal Mapping

The T Scan measures the exact force and timing of each individual tooth contact capturing data like first contact, maximum force, last contact, dynamic interferences, and implant load warnings offering far more than traditional articulating paper

Enhanced Restoration Longevity
