Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy for Skin Blemishes

Targeted treatment for clearer-looking skin Cryotherapy is a quick, effective treatment used to remove certain benign skin blemishes by applying controlled cold therapy to the affected area.

What is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy uses a precise application of extreme cold to safely treat unwanted skin blemishes. The cold causes the targeted tissue to break down naturally, allowing healthy skin to replace it over time.

What Can Cryotherapy Treat?

Cryotherapy may be suitable for treating:

  • Skin tags
  • Plantar Warts
  • Condyloma
  • Solar Lentigo
  • Pigmented spots
  • Hemangiomas
  • Actinic Keratosis
  • Seborrheic Keratosis

What to Expect During a Cryotherapy Session

A cryotherapy session begins with a clinical consultation and skin assessment to confirm that the lesion is suitable for treatment.

Informed consent is obtained before proceeding.

The treatment area is cleansed, and a controlled cryotherapy application is applied directly to the lesion using a medical-grade device. The freezing process is brief, usually lasting a few seconds per lesion, depending on the size and type being treated.

During application, patients may experience intense cold, stinging, or mild discomfort, which typically subsides shortly after treatment.

Following treatment, the area may appear red or swollen and, in some cases, a blister or scab may form. This is a normal response and part of the healing process.

Aftercare advice is provided before leaving the clinic. Healing occurs gradually over the following weeks, during which the treated lesion will resolve naturally.
